“Our Worst MacBook - Ever” — Apple’s Neo Fakebook exposed as a load of old junk

A Parody on the Apple’s Neo’s components—old antiquated junk, hits the mark in this hysterical take down of the Neo which despite its humour, is spot on in the facts. Shame he didn’t go as far as naming the real price of the Neo outside of the US - $1000 equivalent in the EU/UK and $1400 Brazil.

“Our Worst MacBook - Ever” — Apple’s Neo Fakebook exposed as a load of old junk
10 year old component design, an old iPhone chip and a misleading gaslighting US sticker price. That’s Where Apple Is Now - Gaslighting its way to profits. Watch the YouTube video!

No words necessary - this follows on from my in-depth critique of the Neo a couple of days ago and proves that while you can fool Apple fetish porn bloggers part of the time, your can’t fool all people, all of the time.

Watch below’s YouTube video

Too good to miss, and too well performed to dismiss. A corker of laughs.

With a special shout-out to forums troll “Jonny T” who for some ungodly reason - I’m told and sent copies of - seems to post all over the web solely to poke a stick at me. Thanks Jonny - there’s only one thing worse than being talked about, that’s not being talked about.

Meanwhile, Still Available, M4 Air 16GB/512GB real power for $100-200 more:

A MacBook Air M4, 16GB/512GB for $799.is still available on sale, brand new. The Neo is neither a great product or even close to “value for money” at $699 (adding in the extra for Touch ID). It is literally built oit of largely abandoned tech from an old parts bin thrown together.

My original review of the MacBook “Neo” here:

Apple MacBook Neo: New Name, Old Tech, More FakeBook Than MacBook.
The MacBook Neo may sell well, but that is not the same as being a good product. Beneath the cheerful colours and low headline price sits a more serious story about deliberate compromise, product segmentation, and Apple’s growing preference for control over user choice.

Just when you thought Apple couldn’t stoop and iterate even more, it scours its old parts bin to knock up a “MacBook” with a technical spec worthy of 2016, not 2026.

For now Apple remains: Iteration over Domination, safely use cheap old tech like Dell rather than innovating its way into the lower-end market.
Cook’s Apple: “Iterate, don’t Dominate.”

Sadly this is just a slow decline of Apple’s “can do “ into “shan’t do” as if some petulant child, churning out cheap tat failing to deliver anything genuinely interesting than the M1 chip in 2000 - and this MacBook does not run on an M-series which outperforms the A18Pro in real world use thanks to better internal bandwidth, but use a (relatively) ancient A-Series design core, 3 years old in design now and already superseded by the upcoming A20..

Apple 2026: How Did Apple Turn Into Microsoft? 40 Years Of Rise And 10 In Cultural Decline. In An Aging Autocracy, Cook Dithers, Federighi Iterates, and “Wong Way” Ternus Looms.
Tim of Oz pulls buyback and Gemini‑rent levers behind a curtain. Federighi meditates serenely amid failed “Siri 2.0” and “Intelligence” promises, and Safety-First Ternus, new“Product Bro”, stalks centre stage. Fifteen years of compounded strategic errors, finally come home to roost in 2026. #NotNeo

How Apple Squandered its lead in Agentic AI and OS, over a sad 15 year history, even adfter inventing the category in 1987 - see the link to the Knowledge Navigator concept Appple put together in 1987, before the iPad or Siri were even dreamed of, except by Apple.

Remember, Cheap ≠ Good, and the US sticker price is a gaslight.
